Our story

A clearing in the woods, for two kinds of healing.

Verdant Grove began with a simple, stubborn observation: the people who most need emotional care are often the same people drowning in forms, eligibility rules and waiting rooms. We refused to make them go to two different places for one whole life.

Reflection, not pressure - the tone we keep across everything we do.
Why we exist

Whole people, not split files.

Our founder spent a decade watching clients heal beautifully in the therapy room, then come undone trying to prove their disability to a system that demanded paperwork they had no energy to chase. The two struggles fed each other - shame made the admin harder, and the admin re-opened the shame.

So we built a practice that holds both. We listen to the feeling and we help with the form, in the same warm room, at the same gentle pace. No diagnosis is required to begin. No story is too small. And nothing happens faster than your nervous system can carry.

What we stand for

Four quiet commitments.

01

Consent first

You set the pace and the depth. We ask before we go anywhere near a tender place, every time.

02

Plain language

No jargon, no gatekeeping. We translate clinical and bureaucratic worlds into words that make sense.

03

Lived experience

Our team has navigated trauma and access systems ourselves. We're guides, not distant experts.

04

Honest limits

When we're not the right fit, we say so and refer you onward - gladly, and with a warm handover.

The people

A small team, on purpose.

Three practitioners and a coordinator. Small enough that you'll always know who's holding your story.

Rowan Welby

Founder · Trauma practitioner

Reparenting and somatic work, with a soft spot for the people everyone else found "too complicated."

Imara Okonkwo

Access & eligibility lead

Turns dense eligibility rules into checklists you can actually finish. Has filled out more forms than the rest of us combined.

Tomas Reyes

Somatic & group facilitator

Holds our Steady Ground circles and breathwork. Believes the body keeps the receipts - and can be gently repaid.

A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It's simply a chance to be heard.
